Imho, this seriously is the best browser available on iOS and one of the best apps I have ever purchased. So people who haven’t used it jumping to conclusions: they couldn’t be more wrong. When you have Chrome installed, it may interfere with iCab in some applications. Just one problem: if you have Google Chrome installed, which I hope not if you’re in this sub: Google pays some app developers to try to use Chrome. Search for Default apps in the Windows Start Menu by choosing the app from the list of the search results before you enter the Start Menu search bar.Open the Default app window to visit the section for Web browser, and click the one you want.Default settings for Internet Explorer will be reset by selecting it. And having this browser as default browser on iOS is amazing! :) So yes: you can set this browser as default, even though it’s with a work-around. Afterwards itll never ask again for that app, but the first few days might be annoying.

When disabling Safari from the Screentime function (app restrictions), iCab Mobile automagically becomes your default browser and works with 99.9% of all applications including Apple’s like Mail with only one downside: the first time you open a URL from an app iOS asks you permission to open it with iCab. I have iCab Mobile, Edge and Firefox Focus. iCab Mobile can become your de facto default thanks to its implementation of x-schemes. (I browse a lot and have it happen once a month or so.) So I suggest to buy it and set the engine to Classic mode.Īlso, Alarming Salary is not entirely right. Classics downside? It’s slightly slower and very rarely: it may cause the app to crash. It also has the modern iOS 13 implementation, but Apple blocked a lot of stuff in it such as the ability to create blocking rules for cookies or specific URL’s and setting certain user agents.

some people also suggest that using a native skin makes a browser faster. However, one caveat: this is when using the classic engine. Each test is done with a default browser install, without tweaking any.
#Make icab default browser mp4
It can show source, has Firebug/Eruda, it can save videos directly to camera roll, extract assetts such as pictures, Download rules (IF download = mp4 file: move to camera roll), Bookmarklets (combined with downloads thus allowing you for example to rip YouTube videos directly from the browser) etc.

It can also be password protected and use FaceID. It is extremely configurable and has tons of tools to block third-party content, has modules to analyse traffic and everything.
