Released back in April, opening single ‘Wings’, praised for its “sunny, breezy spring day vibes” (Notion), catapulted Luca into the spotlight, whilst stunning indie-folk gem ‘Dancers’ builds upon Luca’s sound further - gorgeous layered vocals, sparkling acoustic guitar lines and a lo-fi percussive beat make this the perfect track to slow dance to in the sunset. It’s an effortlessly strong showing across the 8-track debut, showcasing an insightful maturity way beyond his youthful years. Armed with just a laptop, a microphone and a couple of guitars, and often using furniture as makeshift instruments to conjure up percussive soundscapes. Recorded in isolation whilst by himself in his student halls of a covid-stricken Exeter University, Luca found himself with an abundance of inspiration and a lack of resources, he began to rearrange, record and mix songs he had written in the summer of 2020, inspired by a trip to his grandparents hometown in Italy during the fleeting break in the lockdown. Inspired by Justin Vernon, Phil Elverum & Sharon Van Etten, Luca has used the past year to create a DIY, hands-on-approach to his own brand of indie-folk. Today, November 10th, British singer-songwriter Luca Firth announces his debut mixtape ‘A Year Of Grace’ and shares the cinematic video for new single ‘Searching’, via Bad Influence Records.
